Story
When King George II dies without an heir, the King’s court, made of members of two powerful Houses, threaten to reopen old wounds and consume the realm in civil war. By decree of the Lords of the Houses of Reagan and Delano, a tournament shall take place between the champions of each House to determine who shall ascend to the throne of America. Within the House of Reagan, Cain of Arizona, is deemed their champion. Within the House of Delano, however, things are not so easily decided. To find the bravest, smartest, and most courageous person, a series of contests are held throughout the land. In the course of these events, two candidates emerge: Hildegard, the wife of King William, and Maboa, a mysterious stranger with a golden tongue.
The faces may be familiar, but Once Upon A 2008 breaks away from history and takes readers on a wild ride through this historic election cycle. At the core of this story is Hildegard, and her journey to ascend to the throne. Along the way, she must overcome not only obstacles within the tournament, but also deal with threats within her own campaign, and evil forces outside it.
